THE AUTHOR

Rich Roste was raised on a farm in the west-central Minnesota community of Sacred Heart and later earned All-American honors in junior college football before successfully walking-on at the University of Minnesota. After a career-ending injury, he completed a degree in mortuary science and became a licensed funeral director in 1977. He owned and operated multiple funeral homes in Iowa and southwestern Minnesota for more than 25 years before retiring in 2005. Roste also spent more than four decades as a play-by-play radio sportscaster, including 20 years with the Sioux Falls Storm professional indoor football team. His broadcasting career earned him induction into the Indoor Football League Hall of Fame and the Storm Ring of Honor. In later years, he became active acting with Lights Up Productions theater in Sioux Falls, while also acting, directing and writing a stage play. A personal faith journey shaped by his involvement at Celebrate Community Church in Sioux Falls inspired “My Random Biblical Journey.” He lives in Sioux Falls with his wife, Sue. There are four daughters and nine grandchildren.
